It's Wednesday and I don't want to be at work. I would like to be at home or at the lake with my little and big Reds. However if you asked little Red if she wants to go to the lake she would say "no". That is her favorite word these days. I have always been so proud of her because her advanced language skills but now-a-days its just "no". "No I don't want to have milk" (her favorite), "no I don't want a cookie" (second favorite) and "no I don't want to see "K" (her best friend). Not sure why she thinks "no" will get her any where but I am going to say this is just a phase or at least I hope so. This might be foreshadowing of her teenage years and that scares me.
SO I was with some girl friends of mine the other night and some very smart person said something very profound. She said "no one ever complements that". "That" in reference to the good things about our husbands or other peoples husbands, marriage, kids. Its so true, we sit around and gossip about divorce, break ups, heart breaks, weird text messages, skinny women with no souls but we very rarely talk about how great we have it and how wonderful (minus the stuff we complain about) our partners are and our precious little ones. So what did I learn you ask? Next time, I will make a point to say one good thing before I gossip about Big Red and other peoples weird text messages.
And I will leave you with Little Red dancing in the plastic pool without a care in the world...
I want to swim in the pool with Shamu!!!
